Jom UniFi!








UniFi is a broadband service that uses fibre optics to
deliver high speed internet, phone and IPTV services to customers' homes.
The type of technology used to deliver UniFi service to customers' homes
would depend on the type of customer premise. If the customer's premise is a
landed property, Fibre to the Home (FTTH) will be used whereas if the
customer's premise is a high rise building, Very high speed Digital
Subscriber Line 2 (VDSL 2) will be used.


The Residential package is a triple play UniFi service which is called VIP
because it comes with three services which are:


  • V Video or Internet
    Protocol Television
  • I High Speed Internet
  • P Phone
  • Benefits of VIP 
  • Download large DVD quality movies and music video clips in a short
    period of time.


  • Enjoy TV over broadband (IPTV–Internet Protocol Television) where TV
    channels can be accessed through a private network in high definition
    format with high stability. IPTV also offers interactive content through
    its video–on–demand feature.

    associates anywhere in the world in real time through high speed
    internet, video and phone connections.


  • Enjoy a richer and secure shopping and e-commerce experience without
    the need to leave home by accessing virtual shops online.

    Play online games in high resolution with people from around the world.


  • Study online and participate in virtual classroom discussions with
    tutors from around the world and make research efficient by downloading
    books, journals and magazines faster.

IMPORTANT NOTES 


Service Contract
  1. The UniFi service contract is for 24
    months.
  2. If service is terminated within this
    contract period, a penalty of RM500 will
    apply. 
Pre-Installation


  1. Customers will be contacted by TM UniFi
    Centre upon successful registration to make
    an appointment for installation.
  2. TM UniFi Centre will call customers
    again 3 days before and 24 hours before
    installation to confirm the appointment.
  3. A fee of RM 200 will be imposed for
    cancelled / deferred appointment
    requests received within 24 hours of the
    scheduled installation date. 
Installations 




General Requirements


  1. Customers are expected to be present when installation is carried out.
  2. Customers are required to sign the Work Order Acceptance Form before any
    installation work commences.
  3. Some minimal drilling will be required to connect the fibre cable from the
    outside to the inside of a customer's premise.
  4. The equipment being installed will require access to 4 power points.
  5. Appointments for installation will not be made for premises that are being
    renovated.
Standard Installation


  1. A fee of RM200 will be imposed for standard installation.
  2. The wiring work carried out will run along the surface of walls and will be
    enclosed in a casing called 'raceway'.
  3. If additional cabling is required beyond what is provided in the standard
    package, extra charges will be imposed.
  4. The extra charges will be included in the customer's next bill and will not
    require upfront cash payment.
Non-Standard Installation


  1. Non-standard installation includes concealed wiring, wiring over the plaster
    ceiling, and underground / buried cabling.
  2. If customers require non – standard wiring, customers can engage their own
    contractors to carry out the wiring work or select a contractor from TM's panel
    of contractors.
  3. Charges will be imposed for non-standard installation activities.
  4. Charges quoted will cover the cost of workmanship only. These charges are to
    be settled in cash with the contractor concerned.
  5. All material costs will be included in customer's next bill.
For High-Rise Buildings


  1. If customer's premise is located in a high – rise building, the customer is
    required to obtain the building management's permission prior to installation.
  2. If the building already has internal copper cabling, the customer must
    terminate the existing fixed line broadband service (if any) to install UniFi
    since it will utilize the same wiring.
Equipment & Services

  1. UniFi is a wired high speed broadband service and therefore, the most
    optimum service will be obtained if there is wired connectivity.
  2. Wireless capability is provided as an additional benefit to the service.
    However, it is important to note that wireless connectivity has its limitations.
  3. All equipment provided for the UniFi service come with a 12-month warranty.
  4. A UniFi service installation is considered successful only if all the
    services offered are fully installed and activated which means that for the
    Residential package, High Speed Internet, Voice and IPTV services must be
    activated. Partial service activation is not allowed. 
Billing

  1. All bills will be mailed to customers billing address.
  2. Customers are advised to provide the updated / correct address to ensure
    that the bill is received in a timely manner.
  3. Customers can also view their UniFi bills at www.tm.com.my under MyUniFi.
